Introduction
The Hilton Singapore Orchard, now the largest Hilton hotel in the Asia Pacific, underwent an extensive refurbishment project that concluded in March 2022. This significant upgrade has allowed the Hilton Hotels & Resorts group to redefine hospitality excellence in Singapore’s renowned shopping district. The project focused on blending style, comfort, and functionality, thereby establishing the Hilton Singapore Orchard as a premier destination for visitors and guests alike.
Creating the right environment
Mint Building Services was at the forefront of this ambitious renovation, tasked with transforming the hotel into a space where luxury and innovation converge. The project encompassed a wide array of enhancements including the grand visitor entrance at Level 1 facing Ngee Ann City, the expansion of the hotel’s exterior façade across multiple floors, a new reception area at Level 5, and upgraded event and meeting facilities equipped for touchless connectivity. These improvements were meticulously executed in stages to ensure the hotel remained operational, minimizing disruption to guests and operations.
Engineering excellence in action
A notable challenge Mint Building Services faced was optimizing floor-to-ceiling space for occupants under the constraint of a low ceiling height of 2.55m, particularly while incorporating extensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire (MEPF) services. This obstacle demanded a solutions-based approach, requiring innovative engineering strategies to integrate the necessary infrastructure without compromising the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the hotel spaces. Our expertise in MEPF systems was crucial in overcoming these limitations, ensuring every aspect of the hotel's design and functionality met the highest standards of hospitality excellence.
